The Western Sweden Orchid Society is the organizer behind Gothenburg International Orchid Show. We are a non-profit organization with a passion for plants and nature with an emphasis on orchids. We care about the orchids in the world and work for the conservation of species. Through our orchid cultivation we help to conserve species that would otherwise disappear completely. Some species are only left in private collections or in botanical gardens. The goal is to hopefully be able to replant as many species as possible in places that are now protected from deforestation.
The Western Sweden Orchid Society is consists of a very mixed group of members who meet at the Botanical Gardens in Gothenburg on a monthly basis. Some are very knowledgeable, while others have more to learn – but all members are equally welcome to participate in our inspiring meetings. We help each other and have fun together.
If you are interested in becoming a member, you are welcome to visit the organisation’s website. Membership costs 70 SEK and is valid for one calendar year. For an additional 250 SEK you also get a membership in the Swedish Orchid Society, and 10 issues of the member magazine.
